Our Client is one of the largest and leading energy infrastructure owners and managers across EV charging, solar and battery, and smart metering.
The Role
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Sustainability Manager to join our Client's team on a 12-month fixed-term basis. This role is central to delivering our sustainability strategy and driving progress towards Net Zero targets for operations by 2030.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Execution
Translate the sustainability strategy into actionable programmes with measurable outcomes.
Lead initiatives that support the Net Zero by 2030 ambition.
Data and Insights
Manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of emissions data.
Enhance data accuracy and develop robust calculation methodologies.
Lead internal and external assurance of emissions data.
Own and manage the ESG Data Strategy across the organisation.
Collaborate with project managers, operational leads, and IT teams to support ESG performance tracking.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders including executive leadership.
Provide regular updates and reports on sustainability performance.
Partner with community and charity organisations to deliver local impact.
Continuous Improvement
Benchmark industry best practices and integrate external insights.
Promote innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
Support learning and development to build sustainability awareness across the business.
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Strong understanding of carbon reporting standards (e.g., GHG Protocol, SBTi).
Project management experience.
Proven experience delivering data-driven sustainability initiatives.
Proficiency in ESG tools, emissions data analytics, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI).
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
Professional qualifications (e.g., IEMA, GHG Accounting, CDP).
Experience working with community or charity partners.
Team and Collaboration
One direct report.
Build relationships with shareholders, executive teams, sustainability partners, suppliers, customers, and charities.
