The Role
Our Client is seeking a Senior Cost Controller to lead integrated cost reporting and associated deliverables across a diverse portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will own and continuously improve the tools and processes used to generate core project controls outputs in support of project management and customer/business reporting requirements.
This role requires high autonomy and is responsible for ensuring all outputs produced by project controls staff are of suitable quality and delivered on time. The position oversees and coordinates outputs within the cost control sub-discipline while engaging with other sub-discipline leads to develop truly integrated project control tools.
Key Responsibilities
Own the Cost Control sub-function within Project Controls by setting standards and procedures across all projects
Develop and maintain tools and templates used for cost control across all projects
Identify and correct deviations from established tools and procedures
Lead alignment and upskilling of all staff in cost control through training, guides and communities of practice
Manage structure and content of SAP projects including creating projects and ensuring project & WBS adherence with business standards
Utilize SAP to extract data and produce cost reports across the project portfolio, including centralized reporting such as PFR/CCR cycle and Cost of Non Quality (CoNQ)
Provide interrogation, assurance and enhanced analysis of cost data on projects
Deliver consolidated assessments to project, programme and portfolio managers
Support development of estimates and costings for tender projects and maintain centralized supporting data
Implement and produce project cost management activities including invoicing, variations, cost vs budget/price, EVM, and cashflow reporting
Provide day-to-day cost control support and guidance across all project elements
Coordinate and manage activities delivered through Cost Controllers and Project Controllers

Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
Experience with substantial time on larger, complex projects
Ideally some experience in a centralized PMO cost reporting role
Confident and knowledgeable in cost control sub-discipline
Ability to lead training/familiarization sessions with staff across various functions
Demonstrated ability to create standard tools and templates used across multiple projects
Strong SAP experience for project management and cost reporting
Experience in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and leadership abilities
Desirable Requirements
Extensive experience in large projects and centralized PMO roles
Management experience of junior cost control staff
Experience coordinating outputs into wider portfolio or company-wide reporting
Knowledge of nuclear industry projects and requirements
Experience with complex project portfolios across multiple locations
