The Role
As a Materials Manager you will be part of the Supply Chain team located in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This position is responsible for cost-effective management of purchasing, all distributions operations, and plant-specific productivity. Key objectives include a cost-effective purchasing policy, effective management of inventory levels, and a very high level of inventory count accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Implementation and execution of corporate initiatives.
Ensure reconciliation of productivity actuals with financial team.
Process improvement specialist, leading events and following up on action items to completion.
Measure, track and enable the successful completion of productivity projects.
Drive standard process implementation.
Measure, track and enable the successful completion of plant productivity projects.
Maintain a pro-active cost-oriented concept of materials management with measurable goals for cost, inventory level, and on-time performance.
Process improvement specialist, leading events and following up on action items to completion.
Develop, recommend, and manage the implementation of systems and procedures required to optimise parts/materials delivery systems, inventory levels, and order release methods as required for the cost-effective support of Sales and Manufacturing requirements.
Establish, document, and maintain an effective inventory transaction accuracy and cycle-count programme achieving an inventory accuracy of 98% or better.
Develop and perform to departmental budgets.
Provide management with monthly reports detailing Pipeline and Automatic Welding inventory advances or declines, cycle count results, and overall inventory accuracy.
Maintain clean and organised parts warehouse and workspace.
Continuously improve and document the process flow relating to all facets of production and material control.
Develop and maintain effective employee teams and encourage and support employee creativity and self-direction throughout the business process.
Promote a strong commitment to excellence and quality within the materials group and on a Company-wide basis.
Ensure each department operates ethically and professionally in compliance with all Company policies, procedures, guidelines and instructions as set forth by Management.
Key Requirements
Skills & Experience
Business or technical degree or equivalent manufacturing/warehouse experience.
Proven, successful supervisory or management level experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.
Documented experience in at least one of the following areas: Project Management, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Inventory Management, Quality Management, Warehousing (including shipping and receiving), lean process implementation, and freight transportation.
Working knowledge of materials, products and manufacturing processes including an ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of business computer systems software, such as Microsoft Office products, and working knowledge of manufacturing data entry processes.
Experience with SAP ERP system.
Effective verbal and/or written communication skills. Proven ability to negotiate with outside sources to secure Company manufacturing requirements
Ability to effectively manage and motivate employees.
