The Role
As a Senior Valve Engineer, you will provide technical oversight on a high-profile project, supporting the full lifecycle of mechanical equipment, including design, manufacturing, and qualification. You will be responsible for reviewing technical documentation, managing changes, resolving open points, and ensuring configuration compliance as the project progresses. This position involves close collaboration with internal engineering teams, the client, and suppliers to ensure technical requirements are fully met.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical meetings and provide guidance on complex issues related to valve design and qualification.
Review and monitor technical documentation from contractors.
Respond to supplier queries, including RFIs, IQs, ERs, and NCRs.
Identify and escalate technical open points in a timely manner.
Manage contract configuration and design changes, ensuring equipment integration with interfacing systems.
Review and approve contract amendments (CTS).
Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to internal stakeholders and client teams.
Report KPIs to the Contract Engineering Lead.
Oversee qualification activities to align with project timelines and site requirements.
Support the development of less experienced engineers and promote a strong safety culture.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Extensive experience and strong technical knowledge in valves.
Technical background in mechanical systems, piping, and layout.
Experience in nuclear mechanical equipment design, manufacturing, and operations.
Familiarity with interfaces including pipework, supports, fluids, systems engineering, civil, and layout disciplines.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to build strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage configuration and technical documentation effectively.
Languages:
English (fluent) – required
French – advantageous
