The Role

The Senior Commissioning Engineer is responsible for the production of the commissioning documentation associated within the Fluid/Overall scope of the high-profile Nuclear Island project. Based in the UK (Bristol), the position will operationally report to the plant Commissioning Group Lead and support the wider group's commissioning team regarding all questions in interface with Fluid systems and overall commissioning discipline. The Senior Commissioning Engineer will also support NNB on all subjects related to the testing of Fluid/Overall systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Technical/quality coordination of the Fluid/Overall team.

  • Manage Production and follow-up of schedules and budgets.

  • Support and skill development of the engineers in the Fluid/Overall team.

  • Technical review of part of the documentation produced by the engineers in the Fluid/Overall team.

  • Collaborate across design, electrical, I&C, HVAC, configuration, and construction teams.

  • Support NNB on testing strategies and system preparation activities.

  • Support for digital transformation efforts within the group.

  • Support for knowledge/expertise transfer efforts within the group.


Key Requirements

Skills & Experience 

Essential

  • Degree qualified Engineer (in an appropriate scientific or engineering discipline)

  • First successful experience in Nuclear Engineering (2/5 years’ experience)

  • Knowledge of project design, UK context is a plus

  • Experience in multi-disciplinary teams on large projects

  • Knowledge of System Engineering principles

Desirable

Able to take a strategic view with good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels,

  • Motivated and disciplined with an ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work across multiple workstreams,

  • Able to write and review technical documents which present complex arguments clearly,

  • Able to take a proactive approach to management and resolution of technical topics,

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, able to liaise between multiple stakeholders and maintain a clear overview for specific topics.

Language Requirements

  • English fluent

  • French – bonus
