Group Financial Business Analyst (Cognos TM1/BI)

Our client is a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production company. Their focus is on finding and monetising oil in African, Asian and Atlantic Margins.

Their finance department is responsible for the consolidation and reporting of actuals, forecasts and budgets as well as the setting, supporting and assuring of financial standards, policies and procedures. The Group Finance department is also responsible for the enhancement of the Finance Function, running a number of projects focused on continuous improvement.

Our client's Group Finance department is now seeking to hire a Group Financial Business Analyst who will be responsible for:

  • Providing analysis and insight into budget and forecast data in support of the Senior Group Planning Accountant, Business Delivery Teams (BDT) Finance Teams and Group Functions.
  • Providing support and training to BDT Finance Teams in respect of the Group's budgeting and forecasting processes and systems.
  • Gathering and documenting user requirements for enhancements or fixes to the Group's budgeting and forecasting systems.
  • Guiding and supporting the IS Business Intelligence Team in the resolution of issues and enhancement of the Groups budgeting and forecasting systems.
  • Actively participating in the Group Finance Enhancement Project.

You will be able to demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Previous experience of working with Cognos TM1 and Cognos BI is essential.
  • Relevant Finance qualification (ACA, CIMA or ACCA) or equivalent
  • Takes initiative, solution driven, deadline oriented and results focussed
  • Financial Planning & Analysis planning process and systems experience;
  • Advanced Excel (e.g. advanced formula, pivot tables);
  • Strong communication and presentation skills;
  • Stakeholder management skills
