Simpson Booth's client, a global engineering and manufacturing company situated in Chadderton, seek a Commercial Salesforce Analyst on a full-time basis.


The Commercial Salesforce Analyst plays an important part in improving our knowledge of the industry and in strengthening our project pipeline and forecasting. The main duties and responsibilities will be to develop and manage the analytical process and toolsets required to identify specific project opportunity targets. The individual will support and manage local users by highlighting key contractors and assets based on historical trading relationships and specification strength. A key responsibility is data stewardship, ensuring data is accurate and up-to-date. Identifies areas for improvement and customisation.

Description of main tasks:

  • Develops and operates dedicated data analysis tools designed to identify and prioritise project opportunities for the UK & Ireland market.
  • Refines and develops the existing pipeline in Salesforce by defining targets based on the visible project pipeline, historical track record and prior history project wins.
  • Coordinates the collection of market intelligence and supports activities by reporting on target accounts and projects to regional and central management.
  • Designs and completes comprehensive Salesforce data reports to assist the regional Account Managers in making good business decisions by prioritising activities.
  • Identifies new process improvement opportunities and actively develops new methods and tools to represent the results of analytical investigations.
  • Supports the Commercial team in the development of specific analytical tools to drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develops and operates a monthly forecasting tool based on secured projects, start dates and project turnover.
  • Conducts analysis of pipeline trends, closed business, sales activities and sales opportunities.
  • Maximises user's consumption of sales reports and dashboards from Salesforce.
  • Conducts Salesforce data reviews to identify areas for improvement, errors in data entry, duplication, and problems in usability.
  • Maintains clean data within Salesforce and ensures data is up-to-date on major opportunities.
  • Assists with commercial and pricing activity in order to support negotiation of customer terms.

Person Specification

  • A-level mathematics or business economics preferred
  • Experience in related areas is desirable; knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM systems and experience in Project Management and Forecasting

Other Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, and analyse significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills especially to be able to explain concepts and ideas and develop individual users capabilities
  • Strong knowledge of Excel to intermediate level
  • Enjoys handling and sorting large quantities of complex and descriptive data from multiple sources
