Simpson Booth are supporting a well-known, multinational consulting business with the recruitment of an IT Project Manager for a highly attractive opportunity based in central London. This is a full-time, staff opportunity.

The main responsibility of this role is to design, plan and deliver technology development projects and implementations to solve challenging business problems. This entails:

  • Creating and planning projects to design, develop and implement new technology-orientated services for the team, business and client.
  • Applying project management discipline to projects and engagements.
  • Collaborating with the product development teams (designers, business analysts, product owners, developers and quality assurance) to ensure timely completion of development to specifications.
  • Training other team members in best practice project management principles and techniques.
  • Building valuable relationships both within the Client and with the client's stakeholders.
  • Developing subject matter knowledge through both formal training and working with senior mentors.
  • Contributing to business development activities and team capability management.
  • Managing complex projects across multiple internal teams including other technology teams, risk and business security.
  • Communicating progress to key stakeholders and decision makers

Person specification (essential)

  • A minimum of 5 years' of experience working in a project/ programme management role within an IT team.
  • Experience of a similar role in a global consultancy.
  • Strong experience working on complex change projects throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Formal project management training certification (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, MSP) or process improvement certification (e.g. Six Sigma belt).
  • Experience working in an Agile development process.
  • Experience coaching junior staff.

Person specification (desirable)

  • Familiarity with the application of automation and data technologies (e.g. RPA, ETL tools, visual analytics).
  • Experience of people-related consultancy.
