Our Client, a global oil and gas company with exciting upstream and downstream activity across the worldwide arena, are urgently seeking an experienced Payroll, Benefits and Reward Specialist of the highest calibre to play a crucial role in their London office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to achieve a secure contract position within an international Operator with a busy lookahead. You will be based in their London office, and will be the first point of contact for all payroll and compensation activities. This is a diverse and challenging role, and you will also be involved in further HR administrative activities across the business. Our Client foresee this role having a duration of 6 – 9 months minimum but with the high likelihood of extension beyond this initial period, and they are flexible on this being a PAYE or LTD Company contract. You will be a crucial member of the London office and will gain exposure to a diverse range of activities from overseeing the payroll, reward, benefits and bonuses of highly senior individuals across the company, to providing HR and remuneration guidance and administrative support to internal and external parties. This role will pay approximately £200 - £270 per day, negotiable depending on experience.

Roles and Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Deliver an effective and efficient multiple payroll portfolio, including that for UK local employees, as well as inbound and outbound expats to and from the UK
  • Administer related compensation and benefits activities, such as salary exchange programs, pension plan administration (including auto-enrolment) and payments to benefits service providers
  • Prepare Auto Enrolment submission to relevant websites on a monthly basis
  • Reconcile employee pension contribution and transfer funds to the bank
  • Assist employees when they have exceeded annual allowance and life time allowance
  • Administer the UK tax calculations and payments to employees participating in Group Share and Long-term Incentive programs, as per Group policy standards
  • Administer annual P11D's, P60's, PSA's, and Form 42 among others
  • Coordinate annual tax compliance cycle (i.e. annual tax returns) for international secondees, in conjunction with external service providers
  • Upload new starters/leaver or any other changes to SAP on a monthly basis
  • Analysing reports and validate data on a monthly basis
  • Preparing headcount report and the financials report after pay dates
  • Prepare input for salary surveys
  • Coordinate annual salary review process and incentive payments, including preparation of input for salary reviews, preparing salary adjustment documentation, liaison with and support to line managers, communication to employees and accurate implementation according to final approved documents
  • Prepare bonus calculation for UK employees and also assist with calculating net home pay for the outbound expats
  • Be the first point of contact for internal teams on remuneration queries
  • Processing intercompany tax payments
  • Coordinate annual benefits renewal processes in consultation with key stakeholders, ensuring that benefits and costs are optimised in line with Company requirements and market trends, and policies are renewed in a timely fashion
  • Ensure changes are communicated and implemented to relevant stakeholder
  • Preparation, analysis and interpretation of HR relevant data and reports
  • Manage relationships with internal and external service providers
  • Manage the HR Administrator and provide guidance with regards to HR administration optimisation

Knowledge and experience required

  • A robust proven background of working in a compensation and benefits capacity
  • Must have experience of overseeing and delivering the payroll for high-earning individuals including salary and complex incentives, bonuses and reward schemes
  • A background in the oil and gas sector will be highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of UK tax calculations
  • Knowledge and experience of using SAP in an HR capacity
  • Experience of using Moorepay would be highly desirable
  • Strong administrative skills ideally with experience of collating HR data and reports
  • Knowledge and experience of onboarding and offboarding employees and relevant administration
  • Highly computer literate with keen attention to detail
  • Versatile and adaptable to taking on diverse tasks and duties as required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills with proven ability in corresponding with highly senior individuals, internal teams and external service providers
