Vice President of Business Improvement

Our client, a major service provider is looking for a Vice President of Business Improvement to join their team in Great Yarmouth. The role sits within the Business Unit management team and supports the collective drive, direction and decision making for strategy, execution, P&L, KPI's and improvement initiatives associated with this Business Unit.

Specifically around business improvement, you will continuously evolve the BI strategy and own the strategy document. You will work closely with the business unit sites, the Supply Chain and Operations VP to drive the operational excellence programme with a focus on quality, LEAN and a global BMS. You will work closely with the sites to ensure robust compliance with regulatory and ISO certification approvals but more so influence a culture of behaviours across the business that deliver against our strategy. You will continuously work with all the functions to identify and prioritise opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, profitability and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, evolve and maintain (own) the Business Improvement strategy document
  • Develop, in partnership with the leadership team, the BI KPI's and report out monthly performance v's KPIs
  • Be a leading promotor of company behaviours and ethics within the business.
  • Develop, prioritise and implement future opportunities and or projects for improvement initiatives
  • Engage with the other BI VP's in the group for sharing of ideas, initiatives and actions
  • Provide support, mentoring and advice to the QHSE teams at each site in relation to ISO accreditations, BMS system and Operational Excellence in general
  • Active participation and contribution in the Business Unit Senior Management Team
  • Ensure the business is seen within the industry as providing a quality product and service, delivered on time and in budget and a supplier that the industry regards as "Operational Excellence leaders" and want to partner with
  • A visible champion and driver for Operational Excellence inside of the business



  • Strong global leadership experience
  • Proven strategical planning and out of the box thinking
  • Technical knowledge and or manufacturing exposure and operational experience
  • Excellent communicator and an enthusiastic, flexible self-starter
  • Strong influencer and leader of people, clear track record in managing people, coaching, mentoring and team working. Previous experience of managing a remote team
  • Past experience of either quality programs, LEAN or operational excellence
  • Energetic and passionate
  • Winning mentality
  • Professional or Degree Qualification
  • Green or black belt certified
  • Previous exposure to process/business analytics with the objective of improved performance
