Regional Procurement Manager

The Company is committed to develop a strategic approach to the Company's supply chain activities, and specifically, in their approach to global procurement; the Regional Procurement Manager role will be to:

  • Manage the implementation of Procurement Functionalisation for the Eastern hemisphere, and develop the required talent, functions and procedures to support the success.
  • Manage and supervise new procurement / warehouse teams at the site and mentor on new systems and procedures.
  • Develop improvement roadmaps for Site procurement/ warehouse teams.
  • Directly manage negotiations and strategy for large spend items (raw materials, equipment, etc.) for all major projects within the region.
  • Develop Supply Agreements with strategic vendors of major commodities to ensure a competitive advantage in price and favorable terms and conditions of sale
  • Develop and implement formalised, strategic and disciplined procurement commodity management policies and procedures, in line with Global requirements.
  • Support the implementation of IFS modules related to procurement in all plants located within the region
  • Manage all issues related to a given number of commodities including, supply, benchmarking, sourcing, cost, compliance, qualification and evaluation of Suppliers
  • Implement strategic initiatives that significantly reduce costs and improve quality
  • Lead the logistics function within the region by sourcing preferred freight forwarders, customs agents and foreign trade consultants to ensure compliance with local countries regulations
  • Manage, facilitate and coordinate all aspects of Supply Management activities between regional plants.
  • Lead site procurement teams in Supply, Cost Reduction and Compliance initiatives for a given number of commodities including, dual sourcing, supply chain risk analysis, new material qualification, supply chain logistics analysis, cost reduction, and volume consolidation.

Job responsibilities:

1. Manage procurement functionalixation and structure for Western Hemisphere. Mentor and lead new procurement/ warehouse organisation, and manage the required personnel

  • Manage regions to improve and support functionalised procurement model and best practice.
  • Implement procurement procedures and train local talent
  • Improve regions procurement practices and leverage regional spend.
  • Manage regions procurement and warehouse professionals
  • Improve regional reporting (KPIs)
  • Drive the acceptance and adoption of wide scale professional procurement in previously independent operating units.

2. Manage and develop the strategy and coordination for quoting strategic projects for the Eastern hemisphere.

  • Develop strategies for projects including new material / supplier qualifications.
  • Negotiate best value for projects / commercial requirements.
  • Consolidate regional spend to drive value and synergies with major suppliers

3. Manage and support regional staff with daily issues and improvements.

  • Support improvement roadmaps for site procurement and warehouse staff as required.
  • Manage resources and resolve critical issues at the site level.
  • Manage issues with both internal and external stakeholders

4. Supplier Management and Development

  • Manage suppliers and work their senior management to resolve issues and required improvements for the region

5. Support Global initiatives and improvements and implement as required.

  • New procedures

  • IFS improvements

Knowledge & Skills required:

  • Advanced procurement knowledge; theories, processes, best practices; knowledge (practical experience) implementing risk management strategies (ie commodity mapping, spend analysis, strategic sourcing principles, hedging)
  • Superior negotiating skills; excellent written & oral communications
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proven contract management skills
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, motivate others
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously


  • Bachelor's degree (Operations management, industrial engineering, business administration with procurement specialisation, or other)
  • Advance degree an MBA would be advantageous
  • Special Certification or Training above formal education (a Purchasing Certification will be considered an Asset for the position)


  • Strong project and supply chain management skills
  • Experience in advanced problem resolution methodologies: Six Sigma training, Lean manufacturing knowledge would be considered an asset
