Our client is a global energy services company specializing in technology based products and services for the pipeline and pipe services and the petrochemical and industrial markets.

Position summary:

The Field Service Engineer shows contractors' personnel in the accurate way on how to use and install products. The engineer follows up site visits in the field to assure progression and success and attends product complaints as a first line of assessment/advice. The engineer has the ability to demonstrate all products capably to existing or potential customers during seminars, exhibitions and other presentations, such as new product launches and is accountability for capital equipment that should be available for customer and internal use. The engineer develops a systematic approach to the coordination of equipment that others can share on the intranet and takes ownership of new technologies. This is a full-time position based in the Netherlands or remotely across Europe, with extensive travelling within the Eastern Hemisphere.


Key responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate contractors' personnel in the correct way on how to use and install field-applied pipeline coating products at remote site locations within Eastern Hemisphere Region, primarily EMAR.
  • Will be the Operations Expert on all technologies used in range of products.
  • Follow up site visits with the party in the field to assure progression and success.
  • Attend product complaints in the field as a first line of assessment/advice
  • Demonstrate all products competently to existing or potential customers during seminars, exhibitions and other presentations
  • Apply products either for pre-approval or final samples for either Customer specific approvals or external certification requirements.
  • Accountability for capital equipment that should be available for customer and internal use. Ensuring that the equipment is in working order. Develop a systematic approach to the coordination of equipment that others can share on the intranet.
  • Take over ownership of new technologies through being trained and becoming "best in class", giving constructive input to improve installation guidelines, product refinements and best practice.
  • Investigate/evaluate and record supply chain options for installation equipment to refine availability/supply within EMAR.


Candidate profile:

  • Community College Engineering or equivalent
  • Independent work ethic from remote locations
  • Technical/Engineering training in corrosion protection
  • Heat Shrink background
  • Coatings and/or plastics background
  • Knowledge of pipeline market
  • Practical experience of another industry segment
  • Gain deep understanding of the relevant industry standards
  • Gain full understanding of Product Literature
  • Good interpersonal and negotiation Skills
  • Positive and engaged attitude with ability to take on new concepts/challenges effectively
  • Attentive completion of any tasks undertaken
  • Fluent in English.
