Our Client are an industry-leading, accredited Contractor and Sub-Contractor with over 40 years of experience providing high-tech maintenance, renovation and inspection services for major civil engineering, construction and utility projects across London and nationwide.

Our Client are now looking for an experienced Site Supervisor to join their team on a permanent, staff basis. You will be responsible for managing our Client's major flow-diversion works among others. Based in their Slough office, you will also be responsible for travelling around their different sites and projects providing key site supervision and site safety expertise. Our Client will pay £35,000 - £40,000 per annum depending on experience, plus a company car-derived-van and fuel card. This role would suit a safety and deadline orientated, diligent and motivated individual with an understanding of pipeline and/or sewer work renovation and maintenance projects.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Previous, robust experience providing site supervision on construction/civil work sites
  • Knowledge and experience of identifying and communicating access points, hazards and safety briefings to close-knit teams
  • Experience of working on pipeline and/or sewer works highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the safety issues involved in working on inspection, maintenance and renovation projects
  • Understanding of confined space entry procedures
  • Understanding of general construction activities
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel and general IT literacy
  • SSSTS qualification (SMSTS preferred)
  • CSCS qualification
  • Current Driving Licence
  • Confined Space Entry (CP1 or 2) (Desirable)
  • NRSWA (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent deadline orientated time keeping and record keeping
  • Able to deal with customers and service providers
  • Able to deal with contractors and sub-contractors
  • High degree of personal motivation
  • Ability to work as part of a close-knit management team
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with minimum supervision

Role and responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

  • Protect the work-group at all times
  • Know the nature and location of the work
  • Know the access point and route to/from site
  • Know the limits of the site
  • Communicate these details to the work-group
  • Communicate whether there are any hazards
  • Be advised of the Safe System of Work to be used
  • Verify the Safe System of Work Plan before implementation
  • Ensure that Task Briefing sheets are in place and the task briefing is given before the commencement of the shift.
  • Ensure that the work area is managed safely.
  • Be accountable for all persons under their jurisdiction.
  • Liaise with the Eight2O Construction Manager.
  • Brief all personnel on the contents of the RAMS, associated risk assessments and site-specific conditions relevant to the work site location.
  • Ensure that safety critical activities are identified, and suitable processes are in place prior to the work commencing
  • Ensure relevant permits are in place and complied with prior to commencement of work
  • Ensure the work site is handed back in a safe manner at the end of every shift
  • Ensure that all the operatives under their control have left site at the end of the shift
